MY NAME IS KNOWN ©

Lord, I could not understand
How it was that when we met last year,
You knew me, and called me by name.
I had not talked to You in years.

Susan, You said, I have often called you by name.
Did you truly not hear Me?
At times, I think you heard -
You looked up in surprise, seeking Me out,
Then wrote it off to faulty hearing.

Susan, I have called you from the treetops.
You looked, and named Me a bird,
Or the gentle breath of the wind.

Susan, I have called you from the water.
You looked, hearing only a frog,
Or the splash of a fish.

Susan, I have called you from the night.
You looked, and saw the moon,
And named Me the twinkling of the stars.

Susan, I have called you with every breath you breathe.
I have pushed you and nuzzled you,
Bitten you and tripped you.
All around you I have painted pictures.
I have sung songs, I have written stories
To the glory of your name.

You have heard Me Susan, and not realized that I AM.
You wrote of the beauty you saw and the peace you felt -
Then sighed, and walked away -
Wishing to know how to hear and feel again.

When first you were born and first I called you Susan,
You looked at Me behind your mother's eyes
And knew your name.
Susan, I am in your heart still -
Look inside and I am there - feel Me within.
Now, listen again to My voice
As I sing the glory of your name.

Susan, I have know you all your life,
I have known you all My life.
I have written your name in the palms of My hands.

Susan, you are the writing, you are your name,
As you sit in the palm of My hand.
I hold you as dear as Myself,
For I am Love, and you, My Susan,
You are Love in Me.
